Plastic recycling news
Most of the plastic we encounter in our daily lives is recyclable. So, you know what, here are some of the most common types of plastic that you can recycle.(common recycled plastics)
PET
PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) is a common thermoplastic. This material is thin and perfect for manufacturing low pressure products. Clothing yarn and soft drink bottles are popular products made from PET. (see more: PET Bottle on bales )
PVC
PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) is another thermoplastic. It is also one of the commonly used plastic materials around the world. PVC is used to manufacture wire, conduit, bottles and cling film.
LDPE
This material is the opposite of HDPE. LPDE (Low Density Poly Ethylene) is used to produce plastic bags. Sometimes, it is not easy to recycle this material. Instead of recycling, you can clean and reuse them for other purposes.( see more: ldpe scrap roll )
However, the reality is that you cannot recycle all plastics. This is because plastic products come from different types of materials. And it is uneconomical to recycle some of these materials.
Usually, this is due to the long process or the high cost. And sometimes, the inefficiency of the existing recycling process. For example, if you place these materials in a recycling facility, they may cause the device to stop working or fail.( see more: HDPE Natural )
Wondering what kind of plastic falls under this category? Here you are
PS
PS is a polymer. Examples of these plastic products include plastic cutlery and yogurt containers.
PP
PP is also a polymer. Manufacturers often use it to make plastic containers, plastic furniture, and plastic jar lids. In most cases, recycling companies will refuse it for recycling.( see more: PP Blowing Grade )
So from all that we said, recycling plastic depends on the type of material. And plastic materials that you don't recycle are destroyed or disposed of in landfills. However, recycling is the best option for plastic materials.
